Dear Oman,

Thank you for your comment and I understand your point, but I stand by my phrasing of the peaceful movement. I understand you take your reports from one side, but I am a Yemeni and know what is going on on the ground. There are occasions when there is violence -often triggered by a small bunch of people from either side (protestors or police), but that doesn't mean there is no peaceful movement and it is growing by the day.
Take a look at some of those demonstrations and see for yourself what a peaceful protest could be. Such protests -which were often crushed by the police- were taking place for over two years but unfortunately, your sources are not publishing that part of the story because often times, it is violence and bloodshed that makes the news:

I also can't but feel offended by your saying 'but to use the term peaceful seems strange and tests any reader’s credibility about a country where there may well be more guns than people.' as if suggesting that a country with so many weapons cannot have a peaceful movement. If so, the US has a higher percentage and I bet you find peaceful protests there as well. Please keep aside the prejudice and bias and get to know the people up close.

Cheers..

“an ongoing peaceful movement in the southern governorates of Yemen “ – with bombs, killings and so on it doesn’t match many peoples idea of peaceful . Make your own mind up and read all the newspaper reports.

there are always two sides to every story; it may well be that the ‘protestors’ feel justified; but to use the term peaceful seems strange and tests any reader’s credibility about a country where there may well be more guns than people .
