This is very sad. I am amazed that a government would persistently censor its own people! What could be the motive? It must be that the government feels secretive about its activity, or has a bad conscience about itself. Perhaps it would be simpler to say that such a government merely has a deep-seated need emotionally to control other people. Perhaps this form of control makes the people in government feel good about themselves. It is hard for normal people, however, to understand why. Clearly this form of control is consonant with a much earlier stage in history, when it was believed that words had magic and that speaking any criticisms had a magic effect upon those criticized. However, the things beings censored (if I understand correctly) are not necessarily expressing criticisms of the government. So the motive is confusing, and would seem to make no sense. Certainly this deep need to control people and interfere in lives of good people is a horrible barbarism.
